Membership classes in Metropolitan Community Church, Manchester

Five people attended our membership class on 2nd May.  We will be organising a second class in the next couple of weeks as we know some people couldn’t make the first session.  Please let Andy know if you are interested in formally joining the church.  We will be admitting new members in the service on 31st May – Pentecost Sunday.

Membership class, Saturday 2nd May, 11am to 1pm

Dear Friends, We are holding a membership class on Saturday 2nd May between 11am and 1pm, and if you are not yet a member I wonder if you’d like to attend.

The class is quite different from the evenings we’ve had for newcomers to church as this event explains how to get more involved, how MCC is structured, and the rights and responsibilities of membership.

We hope to admit new members at Pentecost. Please do let me know if you can come along.

If you’d like to attend but find this date difficult, let me know as there are at least two others who need a different date!

With much love,

Andy

Membership Classes – choice of Tuesday 21st April or Saturday 2nd May 2009

newlogo1sm1The Bible teaches that we should identify with a local congregation and take a full part in its life and ministry. In MCC we do this by becoming a member of the church.

Members have the responsibility to support the church in various ways and are allowed to vote at congregational meetings.  The first step to becoming a member is to attend a membership class where you can find out more about what joining MCC involves.

We have organised two dates – as we know that some prefer a weekend and some prefer an evening. The classes will be on Tuesday 21st April from 7pm to 9.30pm or on Saturday 2nd May from 11am to 1pm. (You only need to attend one!)

Please sign up in church if you would like to come along – and indicate to which class you will be coming.

BBC interview of Katie Harris from MCC Newcastle

Katie Harris, the Outreach Director at MCC Newcastle, was interviewed by the BBC about times her faith has been tested. Examples from her military service during the war in Bosnia and her coming out/finding MCC were included. http://www.bbc.co.uk/tyne/content/articles/2007/03/28/testing_faith_katie_feature.shtml
